Helen
At 7 Helen began learning the recorder and performing in school concerts. By 14 she had taken up the clarinet and eventually studied at the Royal Academy of Music.
“My life is all about music. Whether teaching or performing. It’s important to pass on the joy that music has given me”. Helen has been MD and played in many bands, orchestras and ensembles over the last 30 years and when she’s not playing or conducting you can find her making large cardboard sculptures ….or practising!!

Sammy
Sammy’s passion for music began at a young age first with learning the piano and then moving onto the saxophone. This has been her main instrument for the past 16 years. She has played at a wide range of events with several different bands including marching bands, swing bands and concert bands. More recently Sammy joined Con Brio which offers a challenging repertoire and very fun rehearsals.
Simon
Simon started playing trumpet at 12 and continued through his teenage years. He stopped to follow his other passion in life sport.. returning to play the sax that in truth was his lifetime instrument of choice.. since he has had the privilege to play in a soul band, concert bands and orchestras. Con Brio gives him the platform to share his love of the saxophone.
Sally
Having only ever played the recorder as a child but with an ambition to one day learn to play the saxophone, Sally started to play the Alto when her children were young. She joined a concert band shortly after and has never looked back. She still plays with that concert band and also with a local swing band. Listening to music has always been a big part of Sally’s life and playing music has given her even greater joy.
